The main Living Cavern at Eastern Weyr is a near replica of the "Lower Bowl" in shape. It is circular, with ceilings sloping up into a gentle cone shape. There are a few stalactites hanging from the ceiling, from which the Weyr's few firelizards may perch. Between these, there are a few inverted "hills", showing exactly how quickly the workmen finished this job. It lends an eerie quietness to the place, as the features cut the sound more effectively. The glowbaskets on the walls highlight the tables of all shapes and sizes around the room. The Head Table appears to be more traditional in place and kind, but the rest of the tables are variable. The east side of the room boasts larger rectangle tables suitable for whole groups of riders, while the middle holds smaller circular tables more appropriate for a family with children. The west side of the room has small square tables which often double as gaming tables on lazy days and most evenings.

Near the Head table, off to the East side, the double doors of the kitchen swing open. Near those doors, two long rectanglular tables are set up for food and drink service. On the eastern and western sides of the room, the stairs lead up to parallel hallways which connect to the rest of the Weyr. A third, smaller set of stairs at the southernmost end of the cavern leads to the Weyr Entrance.

In the hours that followed the ruckus at Benden Hold, there was certainly little minor confrontations that took place as well, amongst them one with a certain daughter and her Lord Holder parents. With the Lord and Lady of Boll downright disgusted by the Lady Isilna's actions, there was a bit of a hushed shuffle before Andi was loaded onto the back of a dragon, her older brother with her, the pair sent back to Eastern. Since then, Andi has been no more than a handful of steps from the young man, still dressed in clothing her parents deem appropriate. Today is no exception, as the pair of Boll Holders are settled at a table as Andi tries to eat some sort of breakfast.

Nenienne heads in for breakfast and, as usual, first stops by the klah pots to get herself a mugful. After acquiring and drinking it she pours herself another, gets some porridge, and looks around for a table. Spotting Andi, she heads over and asks "Mind one more?"

The young man, perhaps twenty one or twenty two, frowns deeply at Nenienne's simple question, the tall, blonde man smoothing the front of his neatly stitched vest out, before after a moment to regard the young woman's candidate knot, he's snorting dismissively, making no move to deny her, though neither granting explicit permission. Andi meanwhile, winces a bit at her elder brother's reaction, shaking her head shyly to Nenienne, though a slight shift of her head recommends that she settle on the far side of the moody Holder boy. A spoonful of hot cereal is scooped up, the young woman blowing on it lightly. "Don't mind him." She finally offers softly.

"Ok," Neni answers when told not to mind the older brother. She is, as usual, frowning, but her voice is light, possibly even amused. She sits opposite the two and begins eating her hot cereal, showing none of Andi's reluctance and, in fact, seeming to quite enjoy it.

The brother turns then towards the table, leaning his elbows on the tabletop as he carefully regards the young woman across the table. As Andi spares him glances now and then, her attention does usually drift back to Neni in turn, her own spoon laid down against the side of the bowl, pushing it away from her a little as she shifts, uncomfortable in the clothing she's been settled in. It is the brother, Liril, who speaks first, however. "Do they not have anything better to feed their candidates?" Certain, the young man makes -his- opinion of the cereal perfectly clear in that single statement.

Neither the scrutiny nor the silence appears to discomfort Neni, so she is nearly halfway through her porridge when Liril's question is asked. She replies "Sure. I could've had the eggs or the toast or the bacon, but I wasn't in the mood for any of them." If she even realizes the insult to the Weyr, she doesn't acknowledge it.

Liril snorts dismissively at Nenienne then, pushing his chair back hurriedly from the table, making a loud racket as he does so, the young man stalking to and from, quite antsy at his current assignment of 'babysitting'. Andi winces again at her brother, sighing softly, shaking her head at Nenienne, and then glancing at the candidate hesitantly. "What.. What's it like?" The Lord Holder's daughter asks almost curiously, eyes settled on the older woman's shoulder, narrowing just a little.

Nenienne says, "Candidacy? It's a lot like junior apprenticeship — mostly manual labor. Although in this case, a heavier manual labor because we're helping to build the Weyr. So, for instance, digging where the lake is going to be or smoothing out the bowl floors. Touching eggs was neat, though.""

Merendezen arrives from the bowl, moving easily to fetch himself something to eat. The plate is filled relatively quickly and a mug of juice is filled. Green eyes take to scanning the area and Andi along with Neni are both spotted. He easily makes his way over, pointedly settling himself near Neni and offering a charming smile for both women. "Ladies."

Liril is piping up at Nenienne's description of the job at hand then, shaking his head. "If that… woman can't do her duty to her Hold, who thought that she'd pull her weight in a place like this?" The young Lordling makes move to mince words. "Should have held her to her duty." He says simply, his voice likely carrying through the cavern. Andi nods slowly at the candidate, her own words stayed by her brother's outburst, eyes closing as her face colors. "Duty.." She murmurs. And then there's Zen there, and she's darkening even more, hurriedly swallowing with a nervous look towards her brother, trying to keep her face out of Liril's view. "Sir.." Andi replies with the proper manners that she's expected to exhibit for now.

Nenienne nods politely to Zen and cocks her head at Liril's outburst. All she offers is, "She's not on latrine duty yet, so presumably she is pulling her weight."

Merendezen tilts a look to Liril, blank for a moment before he shrugs, dismissing the man as he turns full attention to his plate and eating away. His gaze, however drifts to Andi with a questioning look. "Ma'am." He retorts to her formalities before looking to Nenienne. "Who is pulling their weight? I heard you only get latrine duties if you piss off the Weywomen."

Liril's then muttering something further about rudeness from candidates of all people, another batch of quiet insults lodged against the Weyr in which is is currently stuck, though these are left only for his own ears as he paces. Merendezen receives a long look as his gaze lingers on Andi, clearing his throat loudly as he moves to hover behind his younger sister. Andi's shoulders hunch a little, and she spares a quick peek upwards at the man, before offering in a soft voice. "My.. brother. Lord Liril." And he certainly seems the type to demand the title, preening just a bit even as Andi continues to shift, stuffed uncomfortably in her clothes. "The.. former Lady."

Like so many other things, Liril's mutterings go right over Neni's head, though she does take note when Andi says "Lord". She doesn't move to correct herself, though, and notes to Zen, "What she said."

Merendezen allows green eyes to consider the man behind Andi, watching him for a moment. "Sir." He inclines his head just so, ever respectful to the man at least for the introduction and now knowing who he is. "What brings you to our Weyr, good sir? Has your sister gotten herself into trouble and is needing an escort?" It is, at least, worded with respect as he casts the other man a smooth smile. "Ahh. The former Lady… Well, she will do what the rest of us do, I suspect."

"She should have done what she was there to do. A man is allowed his freedoms, she had no right to react the way she did." Liril says sharply to Merendezen, before his hand moves to rest on the back of Andi's chair, causing the young woman to hurriedly sit up even straighter than her tightly bound chest already requires. "My Father wished for me to ensure that the Lady Andromeda was treated how she should be, in a place that is so willing to take in those that are a disgrace." Disdain lingers in the young man's voice, even as Andi seems to be shrinking into herself, shoulders sagging as she shoots apologetic looks at the candidates across the table. "Liril, the candidates do their fair share of hard work, they certainly don't expect it from me." She whispers, trying to soothe his nerves, daring a long, lingering look to Zen.

Nenienne nods earnestly at what Andi says. "She was always doing things for her father, sir." Oddly enough, the "sir" is tacked on quite naturally, as if she had been using the term since her first words to him. "Like describing the eggs so he got a proper report." She glances between Zen and Andi quickly, her gae lingering on Andi sympathetically for the uncomfortable-appearing clothing.

Merendezen gives Liril a look, shrugging. "I haven't been keeping up with the rumors… What exactly did she do?" His question and expression are entirely innocent. "I am certain that Lady Andromeda is being treated properly, as a Lady of her standing should be. Despite who is taken in, there is still great respect given to those who hold ranking over us. Even the Weyrleaders treat her with respect, there is no need to fear. I am certain that the former Lady is also now being treated proper to her new ranking." He smiles once more before nodding along with Nenienne's words, reaffirming the statement of Andi doing the work for her father. He doesn't, however, pull his gaze away from Liril to meet Andi's gaze.

"Spit in the face of duty, and ignored her only purpose." Liril replies sharply, his gaze narrowing at Nenienne and Merendezen as they defend Andi's previous work and treatment, before the young man is kicking the chair next to him, muttering something as he turns to talk off, pausing before he gets too far out of range to point at Andi's back. "I'll be back." Andi offers a little awkward nod, her hands resting on her stomach until his bootsteps disappear, and then she's slouching a little more, sighing. "Zen.." She offers, that single sound of his name likely serving as, 'See why I am this way?', even as she offers Nenienne a thankful look. "Thank you.." She offers, with a shy little smile.

Nenienne, if anything, looks even more sympathetic. In a somewhat hushed tone, she says, "I'm so lucky I was just a cotholder. And then a Smith — even the Master Smith doesn't need to put on that much of a show all the time. How do you live when you're not here?" She nods at the "thank you", saying, "It's only the truth, anyway."

Merendezen watches the boy stalk off, brow lifting as he goes. "Shardin' prick." Is muttered under his breath before green eyes return to Andi and he gives her a very serious look, brows slowly furrowing as his gaze darkens. "If he weren't your brother, little one… I'd be stalking him and breaking his fingers…" There is likely more, but he's trailing off. Lips are pressed into a thin line, jaw working for a moment before he goes back to his food.

"Quietly.." Andi offers, really unsure of what other possible adjective to use, awkwardly turning to glance in the direction her brother stalked off, shifting and lifting her shoulders to try and resettle her corset before she shakes her head at Nenienne. "One must.. always be at one's best." She repeats another saying oft uttered by her parents, before she's biting her lip, eyes darting back to Zen, shaking her head a little more as he threatens what he would otherwise do to Liril. "Zen.. Please."

Nenienne says, "Actually, I wouldn't blame him." She gets up and stows her dishes in the bin, then asks Andi, "Want me to take care of yours too? It must be pretty difficult to walk in that."

Merendezen gives Andi a look, "if he wasn't your brother." He repeats, grumbling, "no one should talk to you that way. He's one of the reasons I hate Lord Holders." And because he has totally staked his claim on the woman, therefore he should beat anyone who makes her feel uncomfortable. "That, or, I'll kidnap you." Though he has nowhere to go. The food is now abandoned as he makes to finish his drink in seemingly one gulp.

Andi glances up at Nenienne's offer, smiling a little and shaking her head. "I.. I'm not sure I'm done. I know I should finish it.." She offers, even as the spoon is jabbed at the quickly cooling, now rather sticky cereal. "You.. get used to it." She offers after a moment, an answer that applies to both of their statements, however, and apparently meant to do just that. "I.. While he's here.." And Andi blushes just a little as she looks across the table at the young man. "Please.. be good." She murmurs, nervously smiling at him.

Nenienne nods and heads back to stand by the table, not quite yet ready to go do her chores. Then she asks "Do you know how much longer he's going to be here?"

Merendezen gives Andi a look, frowning. "I'll be good." Simply because she asked. The smile is returned, though only half-way and entirely forced. Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed, it seems. The rest of his food is finished with a few bites and then he returns to the normal calm. "Yeah. How long is he staying?"

"I.. I hope he won't last too long, that Father will decide… to bring him home." And her voice drifts off, the thought but unsaid 'And not me too' lingering awkwardly between them. And then after a moment, her gaze is flicking back to Nenienne. "He… does likes his fun." Blush over her nose, and her words serve as a warning of sorts about her brothers habits, his earlier attitude enough of a warning of its own when it comes to his sense of entitlement. "It.. It will go back to… normal when he's gone."

Nenienne pauses for a few moments, then nods. "I hope it happens soon, for your sake. And I'll watch out for him." Then she sighs, "I need to get started on today's work. Thank you for letting me sit with you."

Merendezen nods his agreement, "hopefully he'll be sent back soon." And then, he pushes to his feet to put away his dishes before drifting back over to settle beside Andi, briefly. Nenienne is given a look and a wave farewell. "Enjoy your chores." He considers Andi once more, frowning. "You'll be okay?"

"Thank you… And good luck.." Andi offers with a smile to Nenienne, nodding at Zen then as he settles beside her briefly, even as she spares a nervous glance in the direction her brother disappeared. "I'll be fine." She agrees with a nod.

Merendezen looks to where Liril retreated from, frowning and then sparing her a brief look. "I'll see you when he's gone." In other words, he'll avoid her to keep her out of trouble. A slight bow is given to the woman before he stalks quietly out of the Living Caverns.

"I.. I'll miss you." She whispers briefly, giving him a little smile until Zen is slipping away, leaving Andi to her own devices. The cereal is played with a bit more before its taken guiltily to the kitchen, unfinished, and she's heading towards the record rooms, obnoxious brother or not, she certainly has her own duties to see to - duties befitting a lady of her rank.
