Rauzath's Clutch

Egg Name: Love is Red Egg
Egg Description: Bold red is the colour of this fairly large egg: a passionate, hot colour, vivid and striking. Closer inspection would, however, reveal that the colouration is not quite even, with patches of paler reds evident. The hues flow into one another, making the effect look very natural, if not what some would call 'desirable'. Thin striations in a paler red still run around the egg at a diagonal to its vertical axis, though their subtlety means that they could be overlooked.
Egg Theme: I themed this egg on natural, untreated rubies, one of the precious gemstones. Although cut rubies are obviously highly priced, good examples of untreated rubies are also sought after.

M'zen's Boisterous and Brassy Bronze Tuorth

Egg Name: Confetti By The Handful Egg
Egg Description: Basic white would do for any other egg but this. What sets it apart is the menagerie of color that fills the voids. Pinks, lilacs, greens and golds all smattered over the entirety of this particularly rotund shape in no pattern that anyone can discern. Each glowingly bright shade is layered upon another and another and so on, until only bits and pieces of its base white leak through. There is no counting the daubs of color either, as they are numerous and many. But it makes for a fun egg to look at, with endless possibilities.

Ciara's Pretty in Pink Gold Suosith

Egg Name: Sugared Sapphire Egg
Egg Desc: One of the middle-sized eggs in the clutch, this one's surface seems translucent due to the refracting light across its shell. The base color is the deepest of sapphires, exactly the hue much in demand for Harper craftmaster pins. The color is mitigated by what seems to be a splotch of sugar perched rakishly on the shell, silvers and whites and the occasional minuscule dots of blue and red and green mimicking the crystalline shapes of sweetening.

A'kon's Rotundly Maternal Candy-Apple Green Ranuth

Egg Name: Convex Geode Surprise
Egg Desc: From a distance, this egg appears to have an extremely rough surface punctuated with points of pale blue and lavender. It looks as though one of the rocks near the center of the planet has been drawn out, cooled and then turned inside out. When the viewer moves, the points seem to shift However, it is smooth to the touch, and up close, the points come into focus and sharpen.
Egg Inspiration: We had our Gem and Mineral show recently, and my kids got to see a geode cut open. One each, and they were the first to see inside their individual geodes. It was quite a sight.

P'ret's Awkwardly Intelligent Scholarly Blue Kidath

Egg Name: Juicy Fruit Egg
Egg Desc: Do not try to eat this diminutive egg, no matter how delicious and sweet it may look! One half of the ovoid is deep magenta, dotted intermittently with black spherical shapes, while the bottom half is a smooth, verdant green. Delicate celadon curves between the two layers of color, designating where one end starts and the other stops, but it also makes it quite clear that there is much more pink on the shell than there is green.

Egg Name: Eternal Flame Contained Egg
Egg Desc: The surface of the egg appears translucent, giving view to the pure orange center. A conglomeration of variegated hues, from a dark umber to a brighter tangerine lend credence to the theory that the interior may be alight. When touched, however, it remains as cool and smooth as the others it lays among.
Egg Inspiration: This clutch made me go back and look to see what different stones I'd heard of looked like. I looked at the carnelian, and it looked like fire inside a ball to me. So, I wrote it up this way.

J'ret's Fierce and Free Painted Bronze Uallath

Egg Name: Ancient Canyon Treasure Egg
Egg Desc: Vibrant plum paints the entirety of this large egg, cloaking it in shades of midnight sky. Asymmetrical gold shapes obscure the otherwise elegant color, masking some parts and allowing only small glimpses of purple to peek through. Each deformed shape, whether burnished amber or blinding flax, is edged with a chalky line of white. It’s quite an odd looking thing if you look at it as a whole, but each part brings with it a distinctiveness that, in the end, makes this egg stand apart from its brethren.

Egg Name: Smooth As Glass Egg
Egg Desc: Completely white from top to bottom, this ovoid has no fancy decorations, or even hints of superiority, other than the way the surface catches the light and reflects it back to the viewer. Unobtrusive, it gives the impression of fragility, but mixed with a backing that not only reflects, but supports the whole. The edges glow more brightly than the rest, and the extreme top and bottom seem to convey an illusive depth.
Egg Inspiration: My grandmother had many pieces of jewelry made from rhinestones and cut glass. I thought it was a perfect addition to this list.

Uveline's Lady with the Lamp Green Enceth

Egg Name: Gold Rush Egg
Egg Desc: Glossy and round, possessing an iridescent shell, this egg is less than striking. It would be a plain little shape amongst a hoard of colorful casings, if it were not for the brilliant slashes of amber light that strike its surface. Each is a random line, as if someone had taken a blade and hit the shell, only to find that there was gold underneath. There are short streaks, long streaks, and overlapping streaks, that come from all directions with no obvious function except for the fact that they shimmer like spun gold.

V'tol's Devilishly Dusty and Defiant Brown Wreth

Egg Name: Molten Ball of Starlight Egg
Egg Desc: The outer edges of this ovoid are black, or at least appear to be on first look. With closer inspection, however, it is clear that it is merely unrefined, standing in counterpoint to the pure silvery color of the rest of its surface. The middle portions shine with a light all their own, especially when exposed to sunlight. The image of a depression in the silvery portion seems to remain centrally located, no matter the parallax of the viewer.
Egg Inspiration: I thought of “molten platinum” and found a lovely picture of Iridium. So, I went with it.
